Ann married Sir Alexander DUNBAR, son of Patrick 7th Earl of Dunbar and Cecilia.¹ (Sir Alexander DUNBAR was born about 1260.)

There is clearly a problem with this. For example in The Scots Peerage, vol. 7 says:

"According to the family historians, Sir Norman had two daughters, Margaret, married to Sir John Innes of Innes, and Ann, married to Sir Alexander Dunbar of Westfleld, but dates will not admit of this."

Dates would not allow the marriage of Ann to Sir Alexander of Westfield, but it may be only the 'of Westfield" designation that creates a true chronological difficulty. That is what has been followed here ^{1 2}
