DE LESLIE, Norman Sheriff of Aberdeenshire, Sir 1 2Norman married Elizabeth LEITH? heiress of Edingarioch.1 (Elizabeth LEITH? heiress of Edingarioch was born about 1265.) Marriage Notes: Norman (de Leslie) succeeded. He is styled in all public documents Sir Norman de Lesley, Dominus de Lesley. He and many of his successors had the honor of knighthood conferred upon them by various kings. He got a charter of the lands of Fythkill, (now called Leslie), in Fifeshire, from King Alexander III, about 1283. He swore fealty to Edward I. at Aberdeen, 1296; was sheriff of Aberdeenshire in 1305; and in Parliament in 1314 He married Elizabeth Leith, heiress of Edengarioch, by whom he had |
