BRUCE, John of Kincavil, Sir 1User ID: Q714 John married Jean DRUMMOND 'of Medhope'.1 (Jean DRUMMOND 'of Medhope' was born about 1560.) Marriage Notes: "Sir John Bruce, 1st of Kincavil, was a younger son of Alexander Bruce of Airth and was included in a charter by John Robeson, Burgess of Edinburgh, granting the lands of Easter and Wester Bordland and Burnside in favour of his parents in liferent and himself, then styled their third son, in fee on 10 January 1573. He acquired the lands of Canglour from John Charteris of Kinfauns by charter of 19 November 1587 and also acquired those of Kincavil, near Linlithgow, from which he took his designation. |
