Margaret married Robert LUNDY 7th of Balgonie, son of David LUNDY 6th of Balgonie and Lillias OLIPHANT, before 31 May 1592.1 (Robert LUNDY 7th of Balgonie was born about 1556 and died on 4 November 1587 2.)

"Robert (Lundy), 7th of Balgonie, succeeded his father by 1585. Prior to that, in 1578, there is record of Robert being imprisoned at his own expense in the Castle of Blackness. He was married to a Margaret Boswell, with whom he had several children including his successor Robert Lundie 8th of Balgonie; and James Lundie of Skeddoway. Robert died in 1597."

"The testament, inventory, and valuation of the goods, possessions, sums of money, and debts belonging to the late very honourable man Robert Lundy of Balgonie, within the parish of Inverkeithing and sheriffdom of Fife, at the time of his death, who died on the fourth day of November in the year of God 1587.
Faithfully made and submitted by Margaret Boswell, Lady Balgonie, his surviving spouse, in the name and on behalf of John, David, James, Margaret, Isobel, Andrew, Katherine, and George Lundy, their lawful children, executors dative appointed to their said late father by decree of the Commissaries of Edinburgh, as the same decree dated at Edinburgh on the 11th day of July 1598 bears witness."

Note:
Their eldest son, Robert, is not mentioned in the list of children. The eldest son and heir is often missing from 16th and 17th-century wills because of primogeniture where the eldest son automatically inherited all real property (land and buildings) by default, meaning his father did not need to name him in the will to ensure he received the estate.<
