  Marriage Notes:

"David Boswell, son of David by Elizabeth Moncreif, was born 1520. He was contracted in marriage in 1538 with Elizabeth, daughter of Sir David Wemyss of that ilk and had a charter under the great seal

"Davidi Boswell de Glasmount filio et hoeredi apparenti Davidus Boswell de Balmuto et Elizabeth Wemyss ejus spousa terrarum de Balbity, Balgrevy, Pitkenny, etc 27 September 1539".

Also a charter to him and his spouse of the lands of Muirtown etc 27 Sept 1542 (see pub archs 26 and 31). He was killed at the battle of Pinkie with his brother Robert, 1547, which was fought near Musselberg (Musselburgh) between the English under the protector Somerset and the Scotch under the leadership of the Regent, Arran, Sept 20th to enforce the marriage treaty of July 1st 1543 between Edward VI of England and Mary, Queen of Scots, when the latter were defeated with a loss of 10,000 men. The English army amounted to 18,000 and the Scotch to 26,000."
