Marriage Notes: "Patrick Hume obtained a Crown charter of confirmation of the lands of Polwart therein incorporated into the free barony of 'Reidbrayes ' on 18 March 1593-94. He was a great promoter of the Reformation, and one of those who entered into an association to protect the preachers of the gospel in 1560. He was on the King's side, and is said to have been dangerously wounded in a skirmish with the Queen's party at Cairny on 2 June 1571. He died 20 May 1599. He married Agnes, daughter of Alexander Hume of Manderston, by whom he had issue" |
