Essie Haimes, daughter of the deceased, who was present, gave notice of her mother's death before the registrar, T. M. Meekin, at Haddington on 31 May 1897. ⁴

Jean married George HAIMES Tailor, son of George HAIMES Hairdresser, DNA Linked and Helen TAIT (DNA Linked), on 12 November 1854 in Prestonkirk or Haddington parish, East Lothian, Scotland.¹ (George HAIMES Tailor was baptised on 28 April 1828 in Edinburgh parish, Edinburgh, Scotland ⁸ and died on 31 July 1889 in 24 Newton Port, Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.). The cause of his death was disease of the heart for unknown period and diarrhoea over some days.⁴
