  Marriage Notes:

"Isabella, was married first (by dispensation 24 September 1371), to James, Earl of Douglas ..."

from Scots Peerage (vol 1)

"The Earl's wife was Isabel Stewart, daughter of King Robert II. The dispensation for their union is dated 24 September 1371, but it is not certain whether the marriage took place at that time or two years later, when £500 was paid on account of the marriage-contract .... By her the Earl had, according to Godscroft, one son, but he died in infancy, and his name has not been recorded."

from Scots Peerage (vol 3) 1 2

Isabella next married Sir John EDMONSTONE by 1390.1 2 (Sir John EDMONSTONE was born about 1350 and died by 1413 3.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Isabella, was married .... second, between 1388 and 1390, to Sir John Edmonstone, ancestor of the family of Duntreath."

from Scots Peerage (vol 1)

"The Earl's wife was Isabel Stewart, daughter of King Robert II.....She survived the Earl, and married, secondly, before 1390, Sir John Edmonstone, ancestor of the Edmonstones of Duntreath. She died about 1410. By her the Earl had, according to Godscroft, one son, but he died in infancy, and his name has not been recorded."

from Scots Peerage (vol 3)

"This gentleman (John Edmonstone) had the honour of contracting a Royal alliance, for he married the Lady Isabel, daughter of King Robert I .... This lady had married, in 1371, James II. Earl of Douglas and Mar, who was killed at the battle of Otterburn in 1388, by whom she had no children, and secondly, Sir John Edmonstone. By this marriage Sir John had one son, David. The family pedigree makes out William, from whom the Duntreath family are descended, to have been a second son, but this will be shown to be erroneous"
