Helen was the second wife of Lord John MacDonald.

The Gay Gordons report her as John Gordon's eldest daughter.
'She was a very capable woman, and proud of her descent, for, as her husband wrote to the Earl of Sutherland in April 1745, she was delighted with your clanship to the family of Gordon." James Roy Macgregor describes her as "a lady of great spirit." ²

Helen married John MACDONNELL 12th of Glengarry in 1727-1728.¹ (John MACDONNELL 12th of Glengarry was born about 1680 and died in 1757 ³.)
