"In the Haddington Burgh Records there is a Decreet dated 21st February 1643 which mentions Margaret, Elizabeth, Anna, Mary and William, children of Harry Elphinstoun of Calderhall and the deceased Elizabeth Henrysone, his spouse. Her father is Sir Thomas Henrysone of Chesters, knight, a lord of session under the title of Lord Chesters [4 National Records of Scotland, B30/22/8]. In the same records, dated 5th March 1649, there is a Disposition mentioning Thomas, eldest son of Henry Elphinstoun of Calderhall."
