Authorities differ as to whether or not he is identical with the George Grant, eldest son of John Grant's earlier relationship with Isabella Grant.
"George Grant in Inverernan, afterwards in Aldoch, as brother's son and heir of Alexander Grant of Cardells was infeft in Cardells on 20th December 1585, and immediately thereafter disponed them to his brother John for 1000 merks. He appears to have died before 1612."
