  General Notes:

The 1841 census for Aberdeen West recorded Eve Sang living in a household at Harriet Street. Her age was recorded as 20 years, or in the 20-24 year age group, and she had been born in Aberdeenshire. She worked as a servant in the household of George and Elizabeth Brebner, MS Kilgour, who had married on 18 June 1831 at St Nicholas Aberdeen and in 1841 had three small children.




In 1851 Eve Gordon was living in Millbank Terrace Aberdeen with her husband and two small children, Louis and William. She was recorded as 30 years of age and had been born in Aberdeen.




The 1861 census found Eve Gordon living with her husband and five children in the parish of Kiltarlity in Invernessshire. Her age was recorded as 42 years and her birthplace as Aberdeen. Her children ranged in age from 12 to 3 years.




Eve Gordon was aged 52 years when recorded by the 1871 census for Old Machar Aberdeen. She had been born in Aberdeen. Her four children ranged in age from 22 years to 13 years.




The census of 1881 recorded Eva S. Gordon living with her husband George. Her age was recorded as 61 years and her birthplace as Aberdeen.




Eve Gordon died in 1896. Her death certificate recorded her as Widow of 1st John Duncan labourer 2nd George Gordon house carpenter journeyman. Her recorded age at death was 76 years. Her parents were both deceased. 4 5 9 10 11 12

Peter Harper MD certified the cause of death.

Isabella Eve Wilson, granddaughter of the deceased who was present, gave notice of her grandmother's death before the registrar, James Meston, at Aberdeen on 16 January 1896. Isabella Wilson's address was noted as 8 Jamaica Street Aberdeen. 5


Eve married John DUNCAN on 29 December 1843 in St Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 (John DUNCAN was born about 1815 and died before 24 December 1847.)

Eve next married George GORDON (DNA Linked), son of Peter GORDON and Jean GRANT, on 24 December 1847 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.2 (George GORDON (DNA Linked) was born in 1810 in Rothes parish, Moray, Scotland 12 16, baptised on 4 November 1810 in Rothes parish, Moray, Scotland 17 and died 10 December 1885 at 11.00 am in St Swithin Street, Aberdeen, Scotland 3.). The cause of his death was bronchitis over 1 month 14 days and dilatation of the heart of unknown duration.5
