STEWART, John 2nd Lord of Lorn 2
User ID: C70. John married Unnamed FIRST WIFE.1 (Unnamed FIRST WIFE was born about 1410.) Marriage Notes: "(114) John (Stewart), second Lord Lorn (S.), had by his wife, or first wife, three daughters married to Campbells of Argyll, Glenorchy, and Ottar." John next married Unnamed MACLAREN.1 (Unnamed MACLAREN was born about 1415.) Marriage Notes: "He (John Stewart) had also a son, Dougal (No. 115), by a lady named MacLaren. Lord Lorn went to church to marry this lady, and was there assassinated by the contrivance of the Campbells, whose interests would have been imperilled by the existence of legitimate male issue. The Campbells say the marriage did not take place, and consequently Dougal was illegitimate. Dougal's descendants say that Lord Lorn was killed after the wedding, in which case Dougal should have been third Lord Lorn." |
