The 1851 census for Carrington, Midlothian, recorded Jane Nisbet living with her husband, Thomas, and five children. Her birthplace was noted as NK, Peeblesshire. Her age was 36 years.

The 1860 US Federal census of the Free Inhabitants in the town of Huntington, in the County of Suffolk, State of New York, recorded Jane Nesbit, aged 47 years, living with her family in the Deer Park post office area. Her birthplace was Scotland.

The 1870 Federal census for the state of Connecticut recorded Jane Nesbit living in the first ward of New Haven. She was recorded as 56 years old and born in Scotland. Her occupation was 'keeping house' and her personal estate was valued at 300 dollars.

The 1880 US Census recorded Jane Nesbit living at 639 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut, with her son, daughter and son in law. She was recorded at 67 years of age, born in Scotland, of Scottish parents. She was a widow and kept house.

Jane Veitch Nesbit was recorded as 67 years of age when she died in 1881. 4 5 6 7 9
