"Before the date of the Poll-book 1696, John Forbes had also a daughter named Christian, born 1693, and a second John, who, like the second, third and fourth sons, died young, as the children mentioned in that volume are William, Kenneth, Anna¹ and Christian."

Note:

The parish registers of Strathdon list only one daughter, Christen, born in 1693. It may be that she died young, but after the 1696 Poll Book period, unlike her older brothers.

There is more confusion regarding Christian, in that information about her occurs in a context where House of Forbes appears to make errors in the surrounding text. The above quotation continues:

" .... as the children mentioned in that volume are William, Kenneth, Anna¹ and Christian. (The baptism of Anna is not recorded at Strathdon.)

(footnote)1 Anna married Robert Grant of Delnabo, Christian married her cousin, George Forbes of Skellater."

In fact, the baptism of Anna is recorded in the Strathdon register and Anna is recorded as marrying Lodovich, not Robert, Grant of Delnabo. So whether Christian married George Forbes of Skellater after his marriage to Isobel Gordon is unclear, as it is not recorded in the parish records. She was too young to marry him before his marriage to Isobel. ^{1 2}

Christen married George FORBES 4th of Skellater, Jacobite 1715, son of George FORBES 3rd of Skellater and Daughter FARQUHARSON. (George FORBES 4th of Skellater, Jacobite 1715 was born about 1671 in Strathdon parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and died in 1730 ³.)
