In addition, there is some confusion in Fasti Ecclesiae about the various different ministers named John Strachan. ²

John married Jean STRACHAN, daughter of Robert STRACHAN and Jeane FORBES, before 18 November 1651.¹ (Jean STRACHAN was baptised on 13 February 1630 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland ^{1 3}.)

No marriage for this couple has been found in the Church of Scotland parish Registers. However in the baptism record of their first child, John, there is every indication that the couple were married regularly, or this would have been noted.
