Helenor married Alexander LIVINGSTON Earl of Linlithgow, son of William LIVINGSTON 6th Lord Livingston of Callendar and Agnes FLEMING, 26 and 31 January 1583(1584)(contract).^{1 2} (Alexander LIVINGSTON Earl of Linlithgow was born about 1561, died on 24 December 1621 in Callendar Castle, Stirlingshire, Scotland ² and was buried 5 Febrauary 1622 in Falkirk parish, Stirlingshire, Scotland ².)

"He (Alexander Livingston) married (contract 26 and 31 January 1583-84) Helen or Helenor Hay, only daughter by his first marriage, of Andrew, eighth Earl of Erroll. She was a devoted Catholic, and was hunted from church to church by the Presbytery of Linlithgow in a vain attempt to effect her conversion. By her the Earl had three sons and two daughters"
