"William Bruce, younger of Airth, the eldest son who, in 1592, bound himself and his father to refrain from assisting John Bruce of Auchenbowie in his 'deidlie feud and blude' with the Somervilles of Plean.5 He m. in 1582, to Jane, daughter of John, 5th Lord Fleming, (she survived him and d. at Bothkennar, in October 1630), and d. vita patris in 1597. "
