"William Grant, son of John G. of Ballindalloch ; educated at King's College, Aberdeen ; M.A. (3rd July 1679) ; adm. 27th Aug. 1685 ; deprived by Privy Council 4th Sept. 1689, for not reading the Proclamation of the Estates, etc. ; continued to reside in the parish till 26th March 1701, and was apparently reduced to great straits ; died at Edinburgh 21st Jan. 1715, aged about 56.
