BLACKADDER, Robert of that Ilk ¹

Robert married Alison DOUGLAS, daughter of George DOUGLAS Master of Angus and Elizabeth DRUMMOND, 13 March 1510(1511) (contract).¹ (Alison DOUGLAS was born about 1494.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Alison (Douglas), who before 1506 was contracted to William Douglas younger of Cavers, with a dowry of 250 merks, but for some reason the contract was never fulfilled. Five years later, she was married (contract dated 13 March 1510-11) to Robert, son and heir of Andrew Blackadder of that Ilk. Robert Blackadder is said to have been killed at Flodden, leaving two daughters Margaret and Beatrix."
