Another name for Bartholomew was DE LESLIE, Bartolf.1

   User ID: N818.

Bartholomew married Beatrice, daughter of Duncan I King of Scots and Wife (Wives) of KING DUNCAN.1 (Beatrice was born about 1041.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Bartholomew (de Leslie), the founder of the family, was a noble Hungarian, who came to Scotland with Queen Margarite, 1067. He was much esteemed by King Malcolm Ceanmore, who conferred upon him grants of lands in various parts of Scotland, but particularly in the district of the Garioch, in the County of Aberdeen, where the ruins of the old castle of Leslie still remain in the parish of Leslie. It would appear that he married a sister of King Malcolm. We find in the 'Genealogical Tree of the Royal Family of Scotland,' published in 1792, and approved by the Lyon office, that Princess Beatrix, daughter of King Duncan, and sister to Malcolm Ceanmore, married Bartholomew Leslie, (of whom all the Leslies in Scotland are descended), by whom he had a son Malcolm, who succeeded him. Bartholomew was chamberlain to Queen Margarite."
