"Arthur Forbes, born January 3rd, 1627, married (1) Anne Gordon and (2) Marjory Forbes. He sold to William Forbes of Newe 'a certain portion of the lands of Culquhunny lying between the old Strype and the lands of Mill of Newe,' d. February 14th, 1670.
(Patrick Forbes, second son of William Forbes (5th laird) of Newe, had sasine of the lands of Mill of Newe and that portion sold by Arthur Forbes of Colquhanny, May 16th, 1670, proceeding on a disposition of these lands by the same William Forbes to the same Patrick Forbes)
The remainder of the Colquhonny Estate became the property of John Forbes of Inverernan ('Black Jock') in 1700. The house is a ruin."
