Note:

1

The husband of Elizabeth Johnston was George Bannerman, not Alexander. He succeeded his father, Alexander, in 1609.

2

Other sources do not designate George Bannerman's son, Alexander, as 'Sir' Alexander'. Later a grandson of Alexander Bannerman and Margaret Forbes was designed 'Sir Alexander Bannerman', having been created a Baronet by King Charles II.
