"Archibald Hamilton of Innerwick. In 1454 he received from the Crown sasine of the lands and others mentioned in the charter above referred to. On 10 May 1458 he had from John Stewart, Lord of Darnley, a charter of the lands of Ballencreiff and others. He was knighted between 1458 and 1465, and died between 1482 and July 1488. He is said to have married Margaret, daughter of John Montgomerie of Thornton, but there is no direct evidence of this. He left issue"
