Janet married Sir James EDMONDSTONE of that Ilk, son of David EDMONSTONE and Unknown.1 (Sir James EDMONDSTONE of that Ilk was born about 1419.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Sir James (Edmonstone) married, first, Isabella, daughter of Sir John Forrester, ancestor of the Lords Forester of Corstorphine, by whom he had a son, John, who succeeded him ; and secondly, Janet, daughter of Sir Alexander Napier of Merchiston, ancestor of the Lord Napier, by whom he had two daughters: Elizabeth, married to Sir Patrick Blackadder, second son of Blackadder of that ilk ; and second, Margaret, married to Sir Walter, second son of Sir Walter Ogilvie of Auchleven, from which marriage descended the Ogilvies, Lords Bamff, extinct in the male line in 1803. The estates of Tyllyallan and of Boyne went out of the family by these marriages, which led to the erroneous notion, both in Crauford's and the Ednam pedigrees, that they were co-heiresses in default of male descent from their father.

from The Family of Edmonstone 1

Janet next married Alexander HEPBURN of Whitsome, Sheriff of Edinburgh, Seneschal of Fife, son of Sir Patrick HEPBURN 1st Lord Hailes and First WIFE.2 (Alexander HEPBURN of Whitsome, Sheriff of Edinburgh, Seneschal of Fife was born about 1442 and died after 4 November 1508 2.)

  Marriage Notes:

"On 4 November 1508, he (Alexander Hepburn) had, with Jonet Napier his spouse, charter of feu-farm granted by James Wardlaw of Riccartoun, of the lands of Riccartoun, witli tower, etc., lying (in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, but) by annexation in the barony of Ratho and sliire of Renfrew. His successors were frequently designate ' of Riccartoun.'
