He was uncle (see Research notes for this file) to Mr. John Lauder the minister, and his brothers, Robert, George, and Alexander, so frequently mentioned in the records.

  Marriage Notes:

"On 8th October 1619 Alexander Lawder of Gunsgreen gave to his son Robert Lawder and the latter's future wife Elizabeth Craw the above properties in Coldingham, noting that Alexander remained the superior landlord in feufarm. A further charter at the instance of 'Robert Lawder portioner of Coldingham' dated 31st May 1624 confirmed him as the landlord.[10The Great Seal of Scotland number 265, confirmed at Edinburgh 24th January 1635]"
