Margaret married Alexander BRODIE 12th of that Ilk, son of Thomas BRODIE 11th of that Ilk and Unknown, 15 March 1569(contract and liferent charter).¹ (Alexander BRODIE 12th of that Ilk was born about 1530 and died in August 1583 ².)

"Margarey Hay, is styled the eldest daughter in her father's Will of 1598. She m. firstly, to Alexander Brodie of that Ilk, from whom she had a liferent charter on 15 March 1569, and secondly, to Patrick Dunbar, eldest son and apparent heir of mr John Dunbar of Meftis, (c/m 3 August 1585)."

Margaret next married Patrick DUNBAR, son of John DUNBAR of Bennetsfield and Margaret LESLIE, 3 August 1585(contract).¹ (Patrick DUNBAR was born about 1545.)
