"His second son, Matthew of Tillycairn (how he acquired it I do not know, but he is always spoken of in that way),
married Anapel, a natural daughter of Lord Forbes, and had issue. He wrote the well-known History of the Family of Forbes, and died on the 27th June, 1580."

Matthew married Annabella FORBES, daughter of John FORBES 6th Lord Forbes and Helen RUTHERFORD.¹ (Annabella FORBES was born about 1512.)
