"She (Margaret Danielston) died some time before July 1409, when he (William Cunningham) had a Papal Dispensation to marry Marjory (Mary) Stewart, widow of James Kennedy, notwithstanding Margaret his first wife was related to Marjory in the second and third degrees. Mary Stewart was the second daughter of King Robert III., and was widow, first, of George Douglas, first Earl of Angus, and secondly, of James Kennedy, younger of Dunure, who was killed before 8 November 1408. There is no clear evidence that the marriage with Sir William Cunningham took place, though it is not improbable. Her third or fourth marriage with Sir William Grahame is first referred to on 15 May 1416, when he and she had a charter of certain lands."
