  General Notes:

Margaret was the youngest child listed by Fanny Tweedly in her parish relief application in 1878. She was aged 33 years then and married to James Hughes, a brassfinisher, residing at 41 Marlborough Street, Calton. Later her age was noted as 38 years. No record of her birth has been found as yet.

No birthplace was noted for Margaret at the first stage of the application, but when the inspector visited Fanny's home, he noted Margaret as having been born in Lochwinnoch. He also noted that she had four children. 2


Margaret married James HUGHES Brass Finisher on 25 January 1861 in Central District, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (James HUGHES Brass Finisher was born about 1840 and died after November 1878.)
