In the 1851 census for Laurieston, a Margaret McAdam was recorded living very near to the street where Robert Quigley was then living. She was unmarried, aged 23 years, and worked as a house servant in the home of the Watt family in Eglinton Street. ²

Margaret married Robert QUIGLEY, son of William QUIGLEY and Sarah GRAINGER, on 1 February 1852 in Gorbals, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ (Robert QUIGLEY was born about 1827 in Ireland.)
