  General Notes:

James Quigley, the baby's father, was the informant of her birth before William Barclay, registrar, at Calton on 11 May 1855. He made his X mark. Elizabeth was her mother's sixth child.

Elizabeth was the youngest of the children of James Quigley, whose widow, Jean Porter, applied for parish relief in 1861. Elizabeth was aged 5 years and had been born in 35 King Street. She was at that time with her grandmother in Ireland. 2 3
