Thomas Tweedly was the informant of his son John's birth in Glasgow in 1892. His occupation was noted as a boilermaker machinist. 3


Thomas married Elizabeth NEWLANDS, daughter of Daniel NEWLANDS and Margaret STEWART, on 30 December 1881 in 1 Beechwood Place, Dalmarnock, Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Elizabeth NEWLANDS was born on 29 November 1863 in High Church, Glasgow, Scotland 4.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. James Kelly, Minister at Dalmarnock, married the couple, and the witnesses were Archibald Howat, who made his X mark, and Catherine McMahon.

Thomas Tweedly, a bachelor aged 16 years, was a hammerman by occupation. His address was 24 Broad Street, Camlachie.

Elizabeth Newlands was 18 years old and single. She lived at 17 Waterloo Street (East) Glasgow, and worked as a "Wincer Powerloom Weaver".

The marriage was registered on 3 January 1882 in Glasgow. 1
