Jean married William ALLANACH, son of Robert ALLANACH and Mary HAY, on 8 December 1855 in Rothes Parish, Moray, Scotland.1 (William ALLANACH was born in 1835 and was baptised on 2 June 1835 in Glenbucket Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place according to the rites and ceremony of the Free Church of Scotland. The minister was Alexander MacWatt, Minister of the Free Church at Rothes. The witnesses were John Tennant and George Cruickshank.

William Allanach was usually resident at Glenbucket, and at the time of marriage was resident in Drumbain. He was aged 20 years and worked as a farm servant. He was unmarried. he had been born and registered at Glenbucket on 2 June 1835.

Jean Grant was usually and also then resident in Rothes. She was a single woman of 27 years and was a domestic servant. Jean was born and registered on 26th December 1827 at Rothes.

The marriage was registered at Rothes on 10 December 1855, Archibald D. Wright the registrar.

Note: OPR recorded Jean's birth and baptism as 7 and 16 of December 1827.
