Alexander McKendrick, Catharine's father, was the informant of her birth. He put his name to the register of the birth, obviously with some difficulty, on 17 December 1856 before the registrar at Barr.

Kate McKendrick was present where her sister Ann's child, also Ann, was born at Mill Knowe Campbeltown. She gave notice of the birth at Campbeltown on 26 February 1879. ²
