  General Notes:

No marriage or death has been found for this Hugh McCormick, under this spelling of his name. Many of that name can be found but none with the right parents.

Hugh appears in the 1881 census aged 5 years and born in Glasgow, and in the 1891 census aged 15 years and born in Glasgow. In both of these cases he is within his family group. In 1901 he is not included in the family return. There are a number of possibilities of what might have become of Hugh - he might, like his brother John, have become a soldier, or he might have emigrated, but none of the possibilities that have been followed up so far have identified Hugh for definite. More work needs done here. ¹
