John married Margaret SKINNER, daughter of George SKINNER and Margaret LAWRENCE, on 1 September 1821 in Alvah Parish, Banffshire, Scotland. (Margaret SKINNER was born about 1783 and died 9 December 1867 at 1.15 am in Cardenwell, Fyvie Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was pneumonia over 10 days and paralysis over 4 months.
