Peter Dalton was a mason's labourer according to the 1861 census for Largs, Ayrshire. 3


Peter married Mary BROWN, daughter of James BROWN and Ann COYLTON, on 6 May 1854 in Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (Mary BROWN was born in 1804 in Ireland 2 3 and died 26 July 1877 at 4.40 pm in Gateside Street, Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland 2.). The cause of her death was chronic gastro enteritis over some months.


  Marriage Notes:

The OPR for the marriage of Peter Dalton and Mary Brown in 1854 referred to them as 'both in this parish'. 4
