  General Notes:

Ann gave birth to a son, John, in December 1873 and was the informant of his birth in March 1874, when she signed herself 'Ann B. Liness mother'. The birth certificate also recorded her as a mill worker. The birth took place at Dalgliesh Street in Ferry Port on Craig where Edward and Mary Liness and their family lived. Ann was a daughter, since the 1881 census recorded John Crow living with the family and designated 'grandson'.

Ann Liness, a "reeler in a spinning mill", gave notice on 27 May 1876 at Ferry Port on Craig of the birth of her daughter, Mary Ann, on 2 May of that year. No father's name was entered and the child was recorded as illegitimate. 1 2

Ann married Mr CROW. (Mr CROW was born about 1845.)

Ann next married Mr JOHNSTONE. (Mr JOHNSTONE was born about 1850.)
