  General Notes:

The 1851 census for Largs Ayrshire recorded Margret McGonnigal living with her family at Allan's Land in Gateside Street. She had been born in Ireland and was 6 years of age. She was a scholar.

A 'Margaret McGonigal' was a witness with John Harkin at the marriage of James McGonigal and Mary Lafferty in Shettleston in 1860. If not his sister, Margaret may have been a cousin.


Margaret Boyle, daughter of Mary Dalton who was present where she died, gave notice of her mother's death before the registrar, David G. Glen, at Largs on 28 July 1877. ^{1 2 3}
