  General Notes:

James McGonigal was recorded by the 1871 census for Old Monkland parish living at No 38 Dundyvan. He was 6 months old and had been born in Clyde Iron Works.

James McGunnigle was recorded by the census of 1881 living in Hamilton with his mother and step-father. He was a scholar, aged 10, and had been born in Old Monkland. 3 4
