Duncan McGonigal was recorded by the 1871 census for Old Monkland parish living at No 38 Dundyvan. He was 5 years old and had been born in Glasgow.

Duncan McGunnigle was working as a coal miner according to the 1881 census. He was aged 15 and had been born in Glasgow. He lived with his mother and step-father.

In 1900 when his brother William McGonagle died in Hamilton, his brother Duncan McGonagle, who had been present, was the informant of his death. His address then was noted as 74 Eddlewood Rows Hamilton. 3 4


Duncan married Annie MULROONEY in 1887 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Annie MULROONEY was born about 1865.)
