Andrew Sang was a labourer in Aberdeen according to the marriage entry of 1847 for his daughter Eve in the Old Parish Registers.

Andrew Sang died in 1855. His death certificate contains a great deal of information about him provided by his son Thomas Sang. It recorded that he was a pensioner aged 79 years of age. He was born in Kincardine O'Neill in Aberdeenshire, and had lived 38 years in the parish of Old Machar Aberdeen. His parents were recorded as George Sang, labourer deceased, and a woman who was deceased and whose maiden surname was Yule, though her christian name was unknown to the informant. Andrew had two wives, the name of the first was unknown to the informant, the second was Margaret Robertson. If there were any children of the first marriage their names too were unknown to the informant. From the second marriage nine children were born including the informant. They were:

Ann 39 years
Jane deceased in infancy
Eve 36 years
Margaret 33 years
William deceased aged 27 years in 1852
