Lachlan married Janet GORDON, daughter of Sir Alexander GORDON of Lochinvar and Janet KENNEDY, before 18 January 1520.1 (Janet GORDON was born about 1496 and died before 30 October 1558 3.)

"She (Janet Gordon) was married, first, before 18 January 1520, to Lachlan Mackintosh of Dunachtan, chief of the clan, who with her then executed a supplementary discharge and renunciation ; and, secondly, before 16 February 1534-35, to James Ogilvy of Cardell, son and heir of Alexander Ogilvy of Findlater, and had issue by both marriages."

"30 Jul 1520 Dispensation by Andrew, Archbishop of St. Andrews, Primate of Scotland and legate a latere (directed to the Prior of Pluscarden, in the diocese of Moray) for the marriage of Lauchlan Makyntosch [McIntosh] of Dunnachtan [Dunachton] in the diocese of Moray, and Janet Gordon of the diocese of Whithorn. They are related in the third and third degrees of affinity because the said Lauchlan carnally knew a certain woman who was connected with the said Janet in the third and third degrees of consanguinity."
