General Notes:
The 1861 census for Govan parish recorded Samuel McCallum living with his parents and his brother John in Strathbungo. Like John Samuel had been born in Dalry and he was 8 years old.
Samuel McCallum was recorded, aged 19 years, in the 1871 census for Bridgeton Glasgow living with his parents at 32 Orr Street Calton. He was an unmarried man who worked as a labourer in an iron works. His birthplace was Dalry in Ayrshire.
When Samuel McCallum died in 1873 his death recorded him as aged 21 years. It also noted that he was an apprentice glazier and was unmarried. His father had died just over 2 months previously. 1 2 3
